The demand for electronic access to information has made computers indispensable in offices, schools and homes. With that demand has come a need for skilled technicians to design, develop, carry out, keep up and support software and hardware systems.

At the Dallas County Community College District, you can become an automotive service technician in two years or less with our Automotive Technology degree, certificate and specialty program options.

As a non-Bruce Parramore, Eastfield welding graduatetraditional student, Bruce Parramore worked as a truck driver while taking welding courses at Eastfield College. Within four months, Bruce went from truck driver to full-time welder within the same company.
The availability of welding jobs in Texas is on the rise, with starting salaries between $40,000 and $70,000. An associate degree in Welding from DCCCD will only cost you about $3,600, making it a great value for the cost.

The Texas Workforce Commission, along with the Dallas County Community College District, has announced a new initiative to help veterans get the training they need to find manufacturing jobs in Dallas. As part of the program, veterans are also invited to participate in the Military 2 Manufacturing Career and Resource Fair, hosted in partnership with the Urban League of Greater Dallas.
