File Your Taxes by July 15

The pandemic has hit us all pretty hard, so the IRS extended the deadline to file your taxes by three months. Unfortunately, that deadline is July 15, which is right around the corner. Don’t panic, though, because you can file for free!

Yes, friends, you can file for free. Use MyFreeTaxes to file a simple return to both save money in filing and, perhaps, get more money back than you would have otherwise.

To file through MyFreeTaxes, all you need to do is follow these three steps:

  1. Start at MyFreeTaxes and create your free H&R Block account. If you already have an account, just log in and begin the process.
  2. Use H&R Block’s online application to begin filing your taxes. All you need to have is your W-2 form. You can upload a picture of it straight from your phone. While time is limited because the deadline is approaching, you don’t have to worry about filing your return in one sitting. Feel free to save it, then log back in when you’re ready to finish your return.
  3. E-File for free, and you’re done!

If you haven’t filed yet, remember, the worst thing you can do is not file by the deadline. If things are tight right now, you can make arrangements with the IRS, like making long- or short-term payment plans. But don’t let the deadline pass without doing anything.
