There’s $$$ for Science, Technology, Engineering or Math Students

Are you interested in a career in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM)? If so, check out the $1,000 awards offered to STEM students beginning in Fall 2010.

Eligible DCCCD students in the areas of science, technology, engineering or math can apply for $1,000 to be awarded in two installments of $500 (for Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 semesters). The DCCCD STEM Initiative Student Support Award is open to all new and returning students at any of the seven DCCCD colleges.

Besides an interest in STEM subjects, applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or better and enroll in a minimum of six credit hours each semester. You’ll also need to provide two letters of recommendation from DCCCD faculty members or high school teachers. A districtwide committee will select the recipients.

The deadline for having all materials to the DCCCD Development Office/Foundation is Aug. 1, so don’t delay.
